Evaluation

When evaluating our media products we will focus on the following questions, to help structure our answers. Here I will try to summarise our answers to this questions, but we will explore these answers further in video responses.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

• Our music video tries to make use of traditional forms and conventions of real media texts. For example we have a reference to classic Hollywood cinema. Our piece starts in black and white but soon becomes to full colour as our main protagonist enters "A new world".

• Our media production also makes use of the music video convention of having a narrative that is spliced with clips of the artist or characters performing. If music videos don't have a narrative but other clips that may or may not be loosely connected, they often still have the convention of cutting to performance shots. So by using this in our production we are making use of a convention as well as displaying our knowledge of said conventions.In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

• It is effective in the way that it conforms to certain media conventions and could be said to fit into theory's of narrative structure that applies to all forms of media.
